So, why did we change the name?
Well, there’s a small roaster in Chicago that owns the trademark that had their lawyers send us a pretty aggressive letter not too long ago. We were confident we had the right to use the name, our design isn’t even close to theirs, and we’re 100% certified organic (they’re not). We could’ve argued the merits to keep the name, but after doing a little homework on the company behind the trademark, we decided we didn’t want the association. Their brand leans heavily on optics; ours is built on verifiable standards, real quality, and actually supporting the people who grow the coffee.

All this to say, we decided to change the name to something more fitting for the situation. Same great award-winning coffee, different name.
